President signs bill allowing Southwest Atlanta postal facility to be renamed after John Lewis – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A publish workplace facility in Southwest Atlanta will likely be renamed after the late civil rights icon and congressman, John Lewis.

President Joe Biden signed the invoice into regulation on Tuesday that may rename the constructing at 3900 Crown Street the John R. Lewis Submit Workplace Constructing.

Lewis was the youngest and final survivor of the Massive Six civil rights activists who organized the 1963 March on Washington, led by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Lewis was greatest recognized for main protesters within the 1965 Bloody Sunday march throughout the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. Lewis was knocked to the bottom and crushed by state troopers.
