HALL COUNTY, Ga. — The person accused of stealing statues from a Gainesville cemetery was arrested over the weekend, Corridor County officers mentioned.

Officers say the person stole a number of the bronze animal statues at Memorial Park Cemetery on Memorial Park Highway in Gainesville.

Santiago Morales Villalobos, 24, of Gainesville was arrested after he led legislation enforcement officers on a chase in a stolen pickup truck.

Sheriff officers issued an arrest warrant on Aug. 30, 2022, after they decided the suspect was chargeable for the thefts of not less than 4 brass animal statues from the cemetery.
