Cobb woman accused of impersonating federal agent, attorney says the incident is a misunderstanding – WSB-TV Channel 2

A girl is accused of impersonating a federal agent, however her lawyer advised Channel 2 Motion Information she’s harmless.

Channel 2′s Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell spoke with the girl accused of impersonating a federal agent and her lawyer.

“I feel this was a transparent misunderstanding with the police officer on this case,” lawyer Jackie Patterson stated.

Patterson is representing the girl accused, Octavia Spencer.

“At no time did my consumer say that she was a federal officer. She stated she’s a former federal officer,” Patterson stated. “She advised the police that she was a former federal officer and that she is aware of prison process and he or she felt the officer was overstepping their boundaries.”

In response to legislation officers, Spencer is accused of displaying as much as an energetic scene, on Austell Street final week, whereas legislation enforcement officers have been executing a search warrant.

Police advised Channel 2 Motion Information Spencer advised them one of many suspects was her brother and questioned them about their investigation.

After that, police stated Spencer advised them she was a federal agent, then stated she was an ATF agent — an agent from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — and once they requested for identification, she then admitted she wasn’t an ATF agent.

Channel 2 Motion Information spoke to Spencer about it over the cellphone.

“I sincerely need to difficulty an apology for all the things that transpired that evening,” Spencer stated.

“She was not apologizing for committing any crime, she was apologizing for getting concerned in another person’s enterprise at a barber store,” Patterson advised Channel 2 Motion Information. “Her god brother was there and the police have been there so he referred to as her and he or she confirmed up.”
