2 people including UGA student shot less than 1 mile from campus, suspect arrested – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATHENS, Ga. — Two folks together with a College of Georgia scholar are recovering after being shot early Saturday morning lower than one mile from campus in Athens.

Police advised Channel 2 Motion Information round 2:12 a.m. officers have been on their manner to answer a battle when an individual stopped them and said a capturing had simply occurred close to the 200 block of West Clayton Avenue.

When officers obtained to the scene they discovered two folks with gunshot wounds, a 30 12 months outdated man and a 22 12 months outdated girl, who police stated is a scholar at UGA.

Each victims are anticipated to outlive and witnesses have been in a position to establish the suspect to police.

Corey Austin, 24, was arrested and charged in connection to the incident.
